Poodle Table – a transitional hall table with hand carved and painted texture
A unique and funky, yet “transitional” console table, the Poodle Table features legs and aprons with a hand carved and painted texture in pine, and a hard maple table top with a hand rubbed poly-varnish finish. The table top on this table is a single massive board of hard maple (16″ wide) from the Adirondack mountains of northern New York state.
What does “transitional” mean? In the interior design world, it is commonly used to refer to furniture pieces that can go well with either more traditional pieces, or contemporary pieces in a room. This console table (it could also be used as a hall table) has historic and traditional references in the forms of the legs, but with an added and more contemporary flare in the carved and painted surface texture, making it a transitional piece.
I can also make custom versions of this design, for kitchen tables, kitchen islands, dining tables, side boards, serving buffets and end tables. Please contact me for more information.
36″ high x 48″ wide x 16″ deep. This piece is currently available.
